A good 628 page softcover in aged illustrated heavy paper wrappers which are very edge-worn with several small closed tears/losses to the edges of the covers which have been cut larger than the text-block, the spine is tanned with a small separation at the heel, a previous owner's name has been written in Irish on the bottom of the front endpaper, unmarked pages. A step back in time to the Ireland of the late 1940's with extensive sections of advertising (both text and illustrated). Carefully packaged and posted within 48 hours from our wee bookshop in Scotland.; 628 pages.

This publication by a Franciscan order was published form 1930 to 1997; this issue of the Annual features a long remembrance of the famed Irish actor F.J. McCormick [Peter Judge, 1890-1947], with 25 pages of theatrical photographs. Large, heavy octavo, with brown paper covers. The front cover is illustrated in black and orange with a monk sitting with a dog (or wolf?), a design by Sean O'Sullivan. Titling in orange. Clean text; clear and bright. The first 48 pages are adverts, followed by a colour frontis illustration and text to page 496; then follow a section of ads, some in colour, with biographies and a list of patrons, to page 628. Very Good condition, with wear to the edges of the paper covers, which stand proud of the textblock. There is a split along the front edge of the spine and a 1" chip to the foot. First Edition. Soft Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
