Paperback trade, dustjacket (with flaps), pictorial card covers, stapled, very good condition (in very good dustjacket), full-page colour drawings (sideways), few tiny marks covers, minor edgewear. 32 pp. An Australian picture book by Alexandra Seddon about the Swamp Wallaby, using collage to illustrate this beautiful story of a few words. Swamp wallabies are passionate wild creatures. They have fewer chromosomes than all the other kangaroos and wallabies and, unlike them, they are solitary. The orphaned ones are very very affectionate towards their carers and curious about everything around them. At a certain age a wildness enters their being. It is irresistible. The stunning full-page colour drawings (most of the book) will delight children and adults. The author has previously used collage for her children's stories. A very special book to have as part of any children's collection. .
