Soft cover. Condición: Very Good. First Edition. Softback. A very good copy. The paper covers have been laminated by a previous iwner. Ownership inscription. 287 pages. 300 illustrations and maps. Explains the origins and derivations of the streets and closes of Edinburgh. There are a small number of ink annotations by the previous owner who was herself an author of Edinburgh local history works.

First Edn., 1889; grey paper over boards; titling/heraldic illus./decoration blocked in gilt (slightly worn/dulled) to front board; titling blocked in gilt (slightly worn/dulled) to spine; top edge gilt (slightly dulled); fore/bottom edges uncut; x+[ii]+161pp.; illus. nine plates (as called for), printed in sienna. Paper covering to spine has loss to top (approx. 30mm)/tail (approx. 60mm), but backstrip not affected, and binding secure; slightly soiled/slightly foxed boards slightly bumped/lightly worn at top corners, but robust; fore/bottom edges lightly tanned; slight foxing to front free-endpaper, and to tissue-guards of plates, but text fresh, pages/plates clean, crisp and very bright. An ideal candidate for repair/re-binding. Fair. PRICE INCLUDES UK POSTAGE & PACKING. Hardback.
