Jacket unclipped (priced $5.95), rubbed at edges with tiny chips to lower edge, two perforations to front near spine, minor abrasion at base of spine, else Very Good. Collection of pieces by members of the Watts Writers Workshop, founded by Budd Schulberg in the wake of the devastating Watts Riots in 1965. Most members were young, Black inhabitants of the Watts neighboorhood and nearby areas of Los Angeles. The Workshop soon received national attention and NEA funding, but shut down in 1973 after its building was set on fire by an FBI informant. This is the Workshop's first book-length published anthology. [62860].
