1p., landscape 8vo. (14.5 x 24 cm). A few notes on reverse. On aged and worn paper, with crumbling seal in red wax. Unobtrusive repairs to closed tears on reverse. The name of the subject appears to have been scratched away, although it may be that the document was intended to serve as a form. It reads: 'Whereas as well by several Acts of Parliamt as also by several Charters heretofore granted by divers Kings of England under the Seal of the Duchy Court at Westminster all persons Resident and Conchant within the Duchy of Lancaster are hereby freed discharged and acquitted of and from the payment of all and all maner [sic] of Toll Pannage Passage Piccage Lastage Stallage Tallage Tollage Carriage Pissage Murrage and Terrage for all their Goods Cattle and Merchandizes in all Fairs Markets and other places in and throughout the Kingdom of England These are therefore to certify all whom it shall or may concern That ? the County of Stafford ---- is Resident and Conchant within the Honor of Tutbury pcel of the said Duchy of Lancaster and is to be freed as aforesd Given under my Hand and Seal of mine Office the 12th. -- Day of October in the Thirty third Year of the Reign of our Soveraign [sic] Lord George the second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth and in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty nine. | Sam White Bailliff [sic] of the Honor afd'.
