NOTE: Herman Montague Rucker Rupp (1872-1956) was an Australian clergyman, and renowned botanist who specialised in orchids, writing extensively on the plant and sending some five thousand specimens to the University of Melbourne's botany school. Later in life he was even nicknamed the "Orchid Man.".

Light blue pictorial cloth a little rubbed and flecked, with minimal wear and one tiny bruise to the extremities; trifling signs of age and use (including some unobtrusive ink annotations to two pages); overall, an excellent copy with the lightly marked and creased dustwrapper. With the two-colour bookplate (by George Perrottet, dated 1942) of horticulturalist, naturalist and author Edward Edgar Pescott (1872-1954). Loosely inserted are some orchid-related newspaper cuttings, a postcard-format photograph of an orchid, possibly taken by Pescott (inscribed on the verso 'Dendrobium? H. Overall, NSW 1927. Rupp form or var of Speciosum'), and two copies of a 1934 leaflet catalogue of orchids from Herman Withers, Brunswick Heads, NSW.
