Small, 24pp booklet in orange wraps, with b/w images to front, in a style that was to be continued for the remainder of the series. A particularly neat, bright copy with no markings or inscriptions, and with the original rusting staples removed and neatly restapled. A true miniature, measuring just 11 x 7 cms. 32pp; a selection from popular 'Glamour' booklets published during WWII., and intended, as much as anything, to advertise these cheaply in a publication costing just 1/- (a shilling). Illustrated front cover in red, black and white, the rear panel white. 32pp; the 12 photos reproduced recto, with description on preceding opposite page. Staples rusted, but pages holding at present. Generally clean and tidy, with no markings or inscriptions, but mild diagonal corner creasing at leading top corners of a number of pages. No substantial or obvious faults or soiling. A particularly tight, bright, clean square copy, with no markings or inscriptions and absolutely minimal evidence of wear. Bound in blue spiral bound cloth-covered boards with red titles present to the front board. Boards have light shelf-wear present present to the extremities. No ownership marks present. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. Artistic nude glamour photographs caption with poetry quotations on tissues. Plates feature nude and semi-nude glamour models by Roye (coloured by New Life colour process) and cited in Bertolotti's Books of Nudes as a significant publication in the history of nude photography. Horace Roye (born Horace Roye-Narbeth, 4 March 1906 - 11 June 2002) was a photographer. Roye's photograph Tomorrow's Crucifixion, depicting a nude model wearing a gas mask while pinned to a crucifix caused controversy when published in the North London Recorder in August 1938, but is now a noted photograph of its time. As a photographer of nudes, he successfully contested the obscenity laws of his day. E-077; 8vo 8" - 9" tall.
