Illustrated with a black-and- white frontispiece & numerous tables & music staves. Good. This study includes music and texts in the native language of the Copper Eskimos with English translations.

The gilt on the spine is almost completely faded. The binding is rubbed & bumped with the head & tail of the spine lightly chipped. There is some white spotting to the rear cover. 506 pages. Profusely illustrated with diagrams & music staves. There is some light foxing to the fore-edge. Good. Songs of the Copper Eskimos recorded on a phonograph between 1914 and 1916, either at Bernard harbour in Dolphin and Union Straits, or at Eskimo settlements in the immediate vicinity. A few songs of more western Eskimos were obtained from some natives who were employed by the expedition.
