First trade edition, complete in two hardback volumes. 8vo (24cm by 17cm), x, 363pp; x, 372pp. 24 colour plates and text illustrations by Cecil Aldin. Original red cloth, gilt design to the front boards, top edges gilt. The titling is dulled on the spines, there is some foxing to the edges of the text blocks, and a gift inscription to the front free endpaper of each volume; overall, this set is in good condition.

There are heavily torn pages in each volume - 22 pages in Volume 1 & 10 pages in Volume 2. Some pages appear originally uncut due to publisher printing error & previous owners attempted separating the pages resulting in heavily torn pages. Original red cloth, gilt design to the front boards, top page edge in gilt. No publication date mentioned. Published by Edward Arnold. Inscription dated 1915 inside each volume. No other markings seen. Stains on front cover of Vol. 1. Deckled page edge. Bindings loose, front hinge cracked on both volumes. Smudging, stains seen on many pages of each volume. As a whole illustrations appear to be in Good condition. Overall in clean condition but please note the heavily torn pages. Illustrated by Cecil Aldin Historic Oklahoma Bookstore on Route 66.
