Soft cover. Condición: Very Good. A reprint of the 1884 Boston Exhibition souvenir booklet of the famous painting. The painting was displayed in Boston from 1884 to 1892. Written by the artist, Philippoteaux provides a written overview of both the Campaign to Gettysburg and the battle itself. He also includes copies of reviews of the work as well as the order of battle for both sides. Weirdly, there are no illustrations of the cyclorama. This reprint includes the original advertisements. Very good copy of the soft bound booklet. There is a scar on the cover s upper right left from a price tag. 38 pages.

Hardcover/gebunden. Condición: gut. Erste Aufl. Juni 1841 in Haguenau; gestorben 30. Paul Dominique Philippoteaux (* 27. Januar 1846 in Paris; gestorben 28. Alexandre Dumas (1802 1870) , also known as Alexandre Dumas père, was a French novelist and playwright whose works have been translated into many languages and he is one of the most widely read French authors. Many of his historical novels of adventure were originally published as serials, including The Count of Monte Cristo and The Three Musketeers. Since the early twentieth century, his novels have been adapted into nearly 200 films. Prolific in several genres, Dumas began his career by writing plays, which were successfully produced from the first. 'The Vicomte of Bragelonne: Ten Years Later' is the third and last of The d'Artagnan Romances, following The Three Musketeers and Twenty Years After. It appeared first in serial form between 1847 and 1850. In the English translations, the 268 chapters of this large volume are usually subdivided into three volumes, entitled The Vicomte de Bragelonne, Louise de la Vallière, and The Man in the Iron Mask. Set in the 1660s and concerned with the early reign of Louis XIV, the novel has been called an "origins" story of the King, a tale about the education of a young man who went on to rule for over 70 years and become one of France's most beloved monarchs. Naturally, in a novel concerning Dumas' musketeers, the characters play an important role in Louis' education. ; Great Illustrated Classics; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; ix, 280 pages.
