Soft cover. Condición: Collectible-Very Good. Illustrated wrappers. Illustrations. From the Preface: "Distinct periods in California's history and development can readily be traced through the twelve colorful and unusual flags which have flown within her borders. Numerous explorers and ambitiou s adventurers in behalf of the Cross and the Crown carried their flags and house banners throughout the length of California. Their ensigns, depicted in this small brochure, commemorate their deeds. Flags of privateers, the Spanish and Mexican Empir es, as well as of England and Russia, have flown at various times over her countryside".
