Hazon que vous aviez chargé de voir avec moi des différents moyens pour y remerdier, soit vous avoir fait son raport.

First Edition. Peyre was a pupil of Jacques François Blondel and studied architecture in Italy where he won the Prix de Rome in 1751. Returning to France several years later, Peyre became one of the earliest and most influential of French neo-classical architects. The present work includes plans and elevations for for a number of projects: churches and academies of learning, the Maison de Plaisance, a chapel sepulchre, a palace for the Prince de Condé, an enlargement of the Palais de Bourbon, a grotto with a fountain, a cathedral with two adjoining palaces, a sovereign's palace. There are also plans for the public baths of Diocletian and Caracalla in Rome, which were drawn up by Peyre in conjunction with Moreau and Wailly, as well as four designs for fountains.
