Pearson was a well-respected pedagogue of the Thirties and Forties who was the author of half a dozen books on contemporary art and its appreciation. He taught at the New School for Social Research in New York City and lectured widely, and was the founder of the Design Workshop, one of the early correspondence art schools. Before conccentrating on teaching he was a practicing artist who achieved success as a printmaker. Very good other than for minor soiling and discoloration, name on flyleaf; in a worn dj with edge losses (in a protective sleeve).
