Hardcover. Condición: Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Near fine. Robert Osborn, Illustrator Ilustrador. First thus. An apparently uncommon illustrated hardcover edition (with no other copies available online as of this writing), published the year afterThe Population Bomb was first released as a mass market paperback in 1968. Inscribed by Ehrlich on the title page: "For Carl & Estelle, with warm regards, Paul Ehrlich." A deeply influential and controversial book about overpopulation and resource scarcity that has defined Ehrlich's distinguished career and perhaps overshadowed his achievements in conservation biology. The book was called alarmist by some, but Ehrlich years later said that"perhaps the most serious flaw inThe Bombwas that it was much too optimistic about the future." Also of interest is the fact that it was co-authored by Paul's wife Anne Ehrlich, but the publisher insisted on crediting justPaul.A fine book in a near fine jacket a little rubbing, light edge wear, a half-inch inconspicuous tear to upper corner of the front panel at the flap fold. A nice find.
