Pages remain bright and clean with minimal tanning and foxing. Binding remains firm. Boards have light shelf wear with minor corner bumping and crushing to spine ends. Some mild marks and staining to surfaces. Gilt lettering is slightly dulled.

Light foxing and tanning to pages and plates. More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Pen scribbles to front free endpaper. Moderate cracking to gutters and hinges, exposing netting and causing some looseness to binding but pages remain attached. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild staining, tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has minor tanning with noticeable splitting, fraying and crushing to ends. Lettering remains bright and clear. Book has a slight forward lean.

Collated complete.This charming children's book was written by Elizabeth and Mary O'Neill and contains a history of England written simply to be understood for young readers and illustrated throughout.Undated. Dated by a copy held at the British Library. In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally very smart with slight marks to the head and tail of the boards and bumping to the extremities. Lacking front free endpaper, with very light offsetting and spotting to the endpapers. The wrap is sound with loss to the tail of the rear, slight fading to the spine, closed tears to the extremities, light creasing and the odd minor mark and spot. Light spotting to the verso. Internally firmly bound with a closed tear to pp.153. Lightly age toned pages with the odd minor handling mark and closed tear and occasional light spotting. Very Good. book.
