One of women is sympathetic to the child for being left alone on the train that the girl has confirmed her mother is on and she wants to give the girl's mother a piece of her mind. The other passengers are very rude and think that it is likely the mother is in the club car getting drunk. When the train arrives at its destination, the woman gets off with the little girl and asks her to pick out her mother. She points to a casket being unloaded from a cargo car.* "Child Of Evil!" - A slaveowner buys a Negro witch as a midwife for his wife who is pregnant for the fifth and last time after four previous miscarries. He discovers that his wife has made a bargain with the witch in promising her her freedom if she uses her spells to ensure a healthy birth, but on the night the child is born, the couple realize the witch has tricked them as the child is born black. They send the child away with the witch who is happy as she was never able to conceive of her own. : Color Illustrations.
