Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. Very Unique Book from 1941 (the year of Pearl Harbor) that was first published in 1939 is about Martha Washington's Granddaughter, Nellie, and her special friend and servant, Susannah. Obviously, not a politically correct book today, it is a story about two girls having a wonderful time together. Truly a piece of history! Large Hardback Book of 193 pages is wonderfully illustrated! Book itself is in Good to Very Good condition with a tight binding and mostly clean crisp pages! There is a nameplate inside the front cover, but no other writing or markings in the book. Outside tweed pictorial cover is nice with some minor soiling, corner, edge, and spine wear. No Dust Jacket. Great Collectible Piece!.

A lively mystery of colonial days seen from the perspective of young Miss Nellie's body servant (aka slave) Susannah as they travel from Mount Vernon to New York before the American Revolution. Partially removed bookplate to front free endpaper, soiling to spine cloth, else near fine.
