Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Very Good-. First Edition. 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 1264 pages; 1953 - 1960. Mixed 1st edition set of the complete work, as initially published in English. Volumes I & II from the 1st American edition imprints of Coward & McCann with Vol III from the first British edition of Secker & Warburg. Volumes I & II soundly bound in original red and blue cloth bindings with matched red and blue dust jacket designs. Vol II snugly bound in green cloth with textured cream colored, title lettered dust jacket. All jackets with original publisher prices intact to unclipped front flaps. In order. Vol I dustjacket just lightly sunned at spine with some rubbing and shallow chipping at edges; a 3/4 inch chip from the base of the spine panel. Vol II dust jacket is rubbed and worn at edges with a few larger chips from edges, furring and partial separation along the flap folds (archivally mended with Japanese tissue paper tape to the reverse jacket surface). Vol II has some light to moderate foxing to page block edges, mild shelf rub to jacket edges and slight toning to jacket spine panel. Text of all 3 volumes is bright and clean; unmarked. An unusual example in the marketplace of the original English language edition, complete with dust jackets. A high-point of 20th century literary modernism. VG/VG- overall. . Oversize book set will require additional charges for most shipping methods.
