- In order to paint the Northern Lights as well as portraits of the Inuit, Moltke accompanied expeditions to Greenland and Finland between 1899 and 1904, before turning towards porcelain manufacture in 1907. The dishes he designed frequently featured motifs from the Arctic Circle. - Self-addressed by the collector. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
