Hardcover. 1st Edition. SIGNED LIMITED EDITION. ONE OF 536 SPECIAL COPIES SIGNED BY MICKEY MANTLE. This is a fun and interesting signed limited edition - each copy uniquely corresponds to each of the 536 home runs Mantle hit in his illustrious career. This copy is in fine condition, in a red cloth binding as issued without a dustjacket, and being a different binding than the regular trade edition. Fine condition with no flaws. COPY #419 COMMEMORATING MANTLE'S 419th HOME RUN. Mantle hit homer 419 on Sept. 21, 1963 at Yankee Stadium off Moe Drabrowsky of the Kansas City A's. It was his 15th and final home run of the season, his lowest output excepting his rookie season. Mantle clubbed this one in the second inning, a solo shot to right field. He would hit one home run in the World Series that year. Mantle injured his foot in June of 1963 and ended up playing in only 65 games.
