This short novel on women in Czech society was published in Prague in 1922 by the radical left-wing publishing house Vecernice. This very small (4 1/4" x 6 1/2", 67pp) hardcover is bound in green leather with bright gilt lettering and a debossed decorative border. Spine and edges of boards are deeply sunned to brown. There is a significant chip at the top of the spine that exposes the top 3/8" of binding. Front board has a semicircle stain at the bottom. Back upper corner bumped and worn through. Decorative endpapers. Small chip on front hinge. Half-title page and frontispiece illustrations attributed to Ladislav Süss. Inscription written in Czech and signed by the author on the title page. Pages are tanned, smooth and unmarked. Binding is sound. A rarely seen First Edition. Signed by the author. Signed by Author(s).
