Wear around the spiral perforations. Victor Madej (1948-) was born in Munich to Polish parents who immigrated to NYC in 1950, where he completed Brooklyn Tech HS and started its Debate Club. After West Point (BS, 1970) he volunteered for infantry, airborne, ranger, Vietnam, to serve there leading rifle platoons (101AbnD '71, 196LtB '72). He then qualified as a Green Beret (5SFG). Subsequent duties in the Army Reserve oriented on Europe and required languages (9), TS clearance, and a graduate degree (MSoc NCSU '77). For several years he worked for large corporations (MBA, Lehigh '84). His writing aims to expose "the amazing true story of World War 2" and last two books (38 & 39) - under patronymic (Madeson) - explore a "moral equivalent of war" on global corporatism. The table of contents includes: Army Group, Army, Corps, Waffen SS Units, Parachute, Air Force Infantry Units, Mountain, Light Infantry Divisions, Panzer, Panzer Grenadier Divisions, and Infantry Divisions. This book details the German order of battle during the Second World War. It essentially edits a March 1945 intelligence document that was published by the Military Intelligence Division of the War Department. Data is given on types of German units, histories of larger units, tables of units down to battalion and military personalities from colonel higher. Information on SS and Air Force ground units is also included. What was originally 670 pages of text has been condensed. Both German Army High Command (OKH) archives and post-war documents were used for reference. This book was written to bridge a research gap on World War II. To really understand a battle or campaign there has to be some information on the opposing forces.
