The catalog is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Ilya Efimovich Repin, 1844-1944. Ilya Yefimovich Repin (1844 - 1930) was a Russian painter of Ukrainian origin, acclaimed as one of the foremost artists of 19th-century Russia. His notable creations encompass iconic works like "Barge Haulers on the Volga" (1873), "Religious Procession in Kursk Province" (1880-1883), "Ivan the Terrible and His Son Ivan" (1885), and "Reply of the Zaporozhian Cossacks" (1880-1891). Additionally, he gained recognition for his revealing portraits, capturing the essence of prominent figures in Russian literature and the arts during his era. Among these luminaries were Mikhail Glinka, Modest Mussorgsky, Pavel Tretyakov, and, notably, Leo Tolstoy, with whom he maintained an enduring friendship. A copy with soiled wrappers but is very clean on the inside.
