Condición: Good. Nuvolari was possibly the greatest racing driver of the times. The author traces his story from boyhood when his uncle allowed him to take the wheel of a primitive Bianchi. He was taken on by Enzo Ferrari of Alfa-romeo in 1930. He drove to win with no regard for his life. Vivid descriptions of his races are thrilling as are the sketches of the old generation of racing drivers, their mechanics and colourful engineers who ran the 'stables' in the 1930s. Translated by John Eason Gibson. With an appendix of racing succeses. Foxing and toning to front and rear prelims. Some pencil marginalia on Page 211 and the rear fly-leaf. Bookseller's stamp and some writing on front free end page and the half-title page. Some scattered foxing throughout. Foxing to all edges. 37 b&w photographs. 223 Pages. Binding firm. 1st English Edition. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket: Fair-. Foxing to the covers and verso. Edge-wear especially to the spine edges. A few small open and closed tears.
