Vintage oversize matte-finish reference photograph from the 1925 French silent film, showing actor Michel Simon. Based on the 1904 novel "Il fu Mattia Pascal" by Luigi Pirandello, about a young man who decides to start a new life in Rome after the tragic deaths of his mother and young child. Among the first adaptations of Pirandello's novels, a significant feat given the author's purported mistrust of filmmakers, and achieved largely due to the efforts of director Marcel L'Herbier, who agreed to cast expatriate Russian actor Ivan Mosjoukine in the leading role. Shot on location in Tuscany, Monte Carlo, and and Rome. 11.5 x 9 inches. Very Good plus, lightly age toned, with creases at the corners. Flicker Alley 27.
