Ephemera. Nine holograph letters addressed to Frank Leggett from his father in New Haven (3), mother in New Haven (2), brother in New York and Rose Bank (4). Frank was living in Stockton, California, at this time. Leggett & Brothers was a New York business dealing in paint and drugs at this time. One of the letters from his brother discusses the failure of Leggett & Bros. in 1853. They reestablished business in 1854 and continued for a number of years, adding agricultural products, and issuing catalogues in the 1900s. All letters are easily readable with good handwriting. Each letter is 3-4 pages (1 of 2 pages) in length with 300+ words.
