Hardcover. Condición: Fair. First Printing. Frontis has light damp staining to the lower edge and is detached but present. Covers have slight spotting and staining. Covers have a bump to the front lower outer corner, slight wear to other outer corners. Spine has wear to the ends, splitting to the front edge, and the lettering has faded away.

Inscribed on front flyleaf: "To Mathilde [Peat] My constant & best friend / from the author / Monte Carlo May 14th 1925." Mathilde Peat (1888-1965), née Guillou, was a close friend and companion to Lillie Langtry in her later years. In the 1920s Peat was resident in Monaco, where Lady de Bathe died. She was one of a handful of mourners at Lillie's funeral (and a substantial beneficiary in her will). Blue cloth. Some light foxing to text.
