Publisher's blank wrappers. Sokolova, Z. I. (illustrator) Ilustrador. 21.5 x 15 cm. 8 pages: illustrations. Text in Russian. One of a limited edition of only 250 copies. This art pamphlet focuses on the collaborative efforts of the Museum Department of Tatnarkompros and the State Institute of Art History in Leningrad. In the summer of 1929, they jointly organized an expedition to explore the regions within the Tatar Republic. This expedition, which continued into 1930, marked the inception of a comprehensive endeavor aimed at researching and documenting the linguistic aspects of art villages in the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (Tatar ASSR). It laid the foundation for a meticulously planned, collective initiative that addressed the challenges associated with the preservation of national art. The pamphlet underscores the dynamic nature of this study, emphasizing its historical perspective. It highlights the importance of analyzing artistic and cultural phenomena within their historical context, acknowledging that these phenomena undergo evolution and transformation over time.
