"She (Bernice Kolko) sees faces as unique profiles and foreheads. But in her vision there is observation so fruitful that she makes us feel living images. This is her creation: capturing human nature, retaining its essences and expressing, protecting, the fundamentals of being. Her photography, more than technical harmony of shadow and light, is a full communion of vital principles. She imprints her own humanist conception and philosophy on photographic technique. Result: Great art in capturing and communicating emotions and realities." -- Introduction.

4°. XV, (1), 126 S., [1] Bl. mit 123 Tafeln. Illustr. Hln. mit goldgepr. Rückentitel. Erste Ausgabe, sehr selten. - "She uses a camera like a painter uses brushes and colors, and she takes pictures of objects of daily life, or human beings, in the same way that a painter copies a landscape or a still life. But Bernice uses the camera as a means of saying what she wants to say. To give her own speeches, to sing her own songs. Like the Cubist painters who 'cut up' human beings and 'dismanteled" objects, in order to reconstruct them later on according to their whim, in the same way Bernice kolko converts what surrounds her into building materials for her constructions" (A. Rodriguez, A factury of dreams and fantasies, Maniana, October 20, 1951, p. 22 ff.). - Rücken und Vorsätze fachgerecht erneuert, Kanten berieben und bestossen, sonst gut erhalten. Sprache: hebräisch.
