Number three of the series "Monographs on Artists" covers the life and works of Rembrandt, illustrated with 159 examples of his paintings, etchings and drawings, some b/w others with toning added. The text was translated to English by Campbell Dodgson. Edition not stated, but first in this form may have appeared in 1895. 160 pages including index, Condition of this book generally excellant. Card covers cloth covered with red back and spine extending about one third across front, white section with gilt titles, also on red section and spine, which is lightly spotted, top front corner slightly bumped. Front e/papers lightly foxed, text block, illustrations excellent.
