Cloth. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Good. Edition not Stated. This 215 pp. indexed book is a classic window into life in the legendary Kentucky First Brigade. It started with 5000 volunteers from Kentucky, and after 9 major Battles, near the end of the war, they were down to 900 survivors. They were given the name Orphan Brigade, because they were from a neutral State and thus could enlist no reinforcements. This is Johnny Green's story, as he fought in the unit throughout the war, and lived until 1920. Some historic pictures interspersed. The book is in great shape. The jacket has several 1/2" pieces missing from the upper corners, and along the upper edge. Otherwise intact, it actually presents rather well in a clear archival protector. Photos upon request.

Cloth. Condición: Very Good + +. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Very Good. Edition not Stated. This 217 pp. indexed book contains the journals of one of the members of the legendary Orphan Brigade, so called because it formed in Kentucky, a Neutral State. As such, neither the Union nor the Confederacy would supply them any more troops than their original 5000. They had a remarkable battle record, and were in 9 major engagements during the course of the war. They ended the war as a Cavalry Unit with only 900 of their original 5000. Light top edge bumping, else very good +. Photos upon request.

VG. 24pp color plates. 26x18cm, xii,487,(24)pp "Written by a group of international experts in their field, this book is a review of Lagrangian observation, analysis and assimilation methods in physical and biological oceanography. This multidisciplinary text presents new results on nonlinear analysis of Lagrangian dynamics, the prediction of particle trajectories, and Lagrangian stochastic models. It includes historical information, up-to-date developments, and speculation on future developments in Lagrangian-based observations, analysis, and modeling of physical and biological systems. Containing contributions from experimentalists, theoreticians, and modellers in the fields of physical oceanography, marine biology, mathematics, and meteorology, this book will be of great interest to researchers and graduate students looking for both practical applications and information on the theory of transport and dispersion in physical systems, biological modelling, and data assimilation" - publisher's descrtiption.
