First Edition. With matching dates of 1927 on the title and copyright pages. Scarce in dustjacket which has been preserved intact as it came from a private SPA collection with the small number code "K.20" discretely inked at the top of the right-hand corner of the front panel of the dustjacket (not affecting the title) and at the top right-hand corner of the front free endpaper. With the discrete "Chandler Spa" stamp faintly impressed at the bottom of last endpaper. "Here is a tale which in its cruelty, passion and sensuous beauty, holds all the gorgeous East in fee. Its hero is Kong, rover-pirate of the Yellow Seas, a mountainous rascal, with a face of craft and humor, taking toll of many beauties as he passes." The book is in superb condition in the original dustjacket with its original price of $2.50 intact at the top of the inside front flap. Bound in finely woven red cloth stamped in brightly in gold on the front boards and the spine. The hinges are tight; book is clean and apparently unread. The endpapers feature a drawing of a Chinese junk as does the dustjacket. The wraparound green dustjacket printed in red and black has the painting of a Chinese junk on the front panel and leaping fish in the ocean on the rear panel. Thre is darkening to the spine only. The dustjacket has some very light wear and tiny chipping to the top and bottom of the spine ends. A scarce, well-preserved book and dustjacket from 1927. First Edition. With matching dates of 1927 on the title and copyright pages.
