Soft cover. Condición: Very Good. (1993), a facsimile reprint of the 1938 edition, 4to, two volumes, xxxvi, 372; 373-786pp, 31 maps and 60 illustrations. Wrps. VG+. As I remember, this book has always been praised as one of the five or six indispensable genealogy sources for this region. From the preface by the President of the Southwest Virginia Historical Society which published the 1938 edition: "To those interested in pioneering days, and in foundation community history, Mr. Kegley's painstaking compilation will be highly interesting and will be invaluable as a reference work on the early movements to explore and settle the country and on the lives of the settlers as they became established in their pioneer homes and settlements. The Southwest Virginia Historical Society, as sponsor for the project, takes pleasure in offering the book to the public and recommends it as an historical work of importance based on original sources and reproducing many authentic documents." Two volumes; will require additional shipping charges.
