One of Britain's most prolific authors, Michael J H Taylor began his meteoric writing career at the remarkably young age of 19, when a major publisher gave him the opportunity to contribute to a world-famous yearbook. Soon he was writing two, three and even four books a year under his own name, allowing his work to reach a much wider audience. This prestigious output of aerospace and other books exceeded 100 titles by the year 2000, gaining him five-star reviews and multi-million sales, with many translations to satisfy worldwide demand. Kenneth George Munson was the Deputy Editor of what is now IHS Jane's All The World's Aircraft: Development and Production (JAWA) from 1990 to 2014. Ken (as he was known to his friends and colleagues) joined the compiling team of Jane's All The World's Aircraft in 1968, becoming its Assistant Editor in 1973 and then Deputy Editor. His record of 46 years on Jane's All the World's Aircraft will never be equaled. Among Ken's responsibilities on JAWA was the book's section on unmanned air vehicles (UAVs). This interest produced not only a stand-alone book (World Unmanned Aircraft, Jane's, 1988) but also, in 1995 when the subject grew too large for a JAWA appendix, spawned a specialized sister publication, Jane's Unmanned Aerial Vehicle and Targets (JUAV), which Ken edited until 2007. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the inaugural Aerospace Media Awards, held at the Royal Aeronautical Society in London. The emphasis in this series of aircraft Pocket Books is on the finest available photographs, reproduced as large and as clearly as possible, and backed up by high-quality three-view line drawings. The information given for each type is that which will best aid its identification, without extraneous facts about its history and structure (which can be found in the annual editions of Jane's. The Pocket Books are intended as easy-to-handle day-to-day working aids for people whose job or delight it is to recognize aircraft.
