Complete with fifteen illustrations, as called for, as well as the six folding charts in the back pocket. Binding and hinges tight, cover show some discoloration, Bookplate and signature of previous owner - John J. Atwater.

Contains 320 printed pages of text with 21 photo-plates & 6 maps. Fine condition book in Fine condition dust wrapper, not price clipped. October 1920 reprint of the July 1920 original. XVIII, 331 PP, plus 8 plates with 15 b/w photos and 6 folded maps in rear pocket. Cloth cover, device (crest) in blind on front board, gilt device and title on spine. Name of previous owner at top corner of front endpaper. Light foxing (endpapers, outside edges and text) but not on plates. One page with a small crease at corner (dog-ear), o/wise a very good clean copy. 24 x 16.5.

A very good copy in dark blue cloth lettered in gilt on the spine and with gilt insignia on spine and upper board. In a good dustwrapper with minor chipping and a little wear and tear. The wrapper is now protected in a clear, removable sleeve. Some foxing to fore-edge and early pages. Pp.xii,[vi],331. 15 plates on eight pages. The book is largely the story of how the British Navy combated Germany's submarine campaign which began in February 1917. Quite scarce in dustwrapper.

Contains [xvi] 517 printed pages of text with a frontispiece, a coloured plate, 9 monochrome plates on 7, 9 large folding charts coloured in outline and 4 folding diagrams in pocket at end. Tanning to the edges of the end papers. Very Good condition book in Good condition dust wrapper with small stains to the right edge of the front cover, small chips and related tears to the corners and spine ends, priced 31/6. SIGNED by the author to the front free end paper 'To Lieutenant Stephen King-Hall RN, With best wishes from the author, Jellicoe, 21st February 1919'. Stephen King-Hall was educated at Lausanne in Switzerland and at the Royal Naval College in Dartmouth. He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1918, with the Grand Fleet, serving on HMS Southampton and 11th Submarine Flotilla. He gained the rank of Commander in the service of the Royal Navy in 1928, before resigning in 1929.
