Hardcover. Condición: Near Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Near Fine dj. Illustrated by (dj) Eleanor Dart Ilustrador. First Edition. [very nice attractive copy, with only minimal wear to book and jacket]. INSCRIBED and SIGNED by the author on the ffep. A novel in the form of a fifteen-year-old girl's diary, in which is revealed the hardly-shocking news that "this business of growing up is really very bewildering." F. Hugh Herbert was a prolific screenwriter and sometime playwright, with credits stretching back to the silent film era, whose most recent credit at the time this book appeared was the then-scandalous THE MOON IS BLUE (also based on his own play). And, it must be said, he seems to have had quite the obsession with adolescent and teenage girls; his most notable creation along these lines was the character of teenager Corliss Archer, who at various times was depicted in short stories, radio, theatre, movies, TV, and comic books. Herbert wrote only a handful of novels, of which this was the last; all are quite scarce. Signed by Author.
