Book begins with the Fiji Islands and ends with Central and South America. Original Full Leather Binding with Gilt title and decoration to spine. Frontispiece has a Colour Photograph of "An Arab Woman". Title page Illustrated with a Burmese lady holding a Parasole. 584 Pages. 11" Tall. Previous owner's name penciled on endpaper. Some wear to leather, mainly at spine and edges. Small piece of leather missing at top of spine (see photos). Book weighs 3.3 Kilos so Shipping outside UK will be extra. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.

Leather bound, first edition. The books are bound in red half morocco with gilt page edges, the boards have some stains and some light wear, they are sound with everything well bound in. There is a little light foxing in a few places but otherwise in ternally clean. Illustrated, continuously paginated, 584.

Photographically illustrated image of a (North African?) tribal woman in sepia tones. Advertisement for an anthropology book. Undated but the Appleton edition was published in 1902. Presumably an uncommon survivor.
