Cloth. Condición: Very Good. Albert Hirschfeld Ilustrador. First edition. A beautifully illustrated, humourous depiction of the American theatre, by caricaturist Albert Hirschfeld. A first edition, in the publisher's original cloth binding, with an amusing caricature motif to the front board. Lacking the dust wrapper. Al Hirschfeld was an American illustrator and cartoonist known for his unique, contemporary style. He influenced countless artists, with the style he was mostly known for being black ink on white paper. His work was commissioned by numerous magazines, including The New York Times Magazine, Look Magazine, Life Magazine, and many others. This particular work is an extensive collection of Hirschfeld's illustrations. It is comprised of caricature sketches, in his famous black ink on white paper. The drawings feature humorous depictions of people everyone knows in society, through Hirschfeld's unique point of view. The work is set into five chapters, from the twenties to the sixties. With full page illustrations, interspersed with descriptions at the start of each chapter. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with a caricature motif to the front board. Lacking the dust wrapper. Externally, very smart, with light soiling to the boards and the odd mark. Light bumping to the extremities, causing small tears to the cloth to the corners and to the head and tail of the spine. Small tear to the cloth at the rear. Light fading to the extremities. Light age toning to the endpapers. Internally firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean. Very Good. book.
