Williams Ilustrador. 1st Edition. 336 pp, b/w frontis and illustrations, the book and contents are solid, the pages are lightly browned and have very occasional foxing, the front page edges have a little ink dropped on them, a former owner has name, address and school homeroom twice on the rear endpaper, the front endpapers have the owner's name inked at the top and another person's name and city stamped on them, the AUTHOR HAS SIGNED a short inscription on the front free endpaper, the endpapers have light soil and a small bump on the page edges in front, the covers are tight and the front one is illustrated with a chubby boy with his hand in t his pocket, the covers are heavily soiled and scuffed, there is also heavy wear on the corners and edges, this is a very usable book. These boys' stories revolve around a club of boys whose home base is a river bank on the Ohio, with the lead character being the "seckatary" who records their activities. This particular adventure is set in Cuba. Charmingly illustrated by Carll B. Williams. Bound in ribbed-textured cloth over boards with spine and upper board titled in gilt, upper board also has vignette of Seckatary Hawkins with an open book and inkwell in black. A few minor extremity rubs, a bit of darkening along spine and top edge of upper board, otherwise clean and bright with sound hinges. Excellent condition. . No dust jacket. Original cloth. Octavo. 409 pages.

Williams Ilustrador. 1st Edition. 311 pp, color frontis and b/w illustrations, the book and contents are tight, the pages have very occasional soil, one that has come loose was repaired with scotch tape and is rough on the edges, the page before text has a 2" tear on top edge repaired with scotch tape, it has been removed and reinforced with acid-free document tape, a former owner has pencilled his name on top front and rear of the front free endpaper, the covers are worn, mostly on the edges, there is a 3.5" x 1.5" stain on the rear cover, the front cover has a drink ring, the dust jacket has a lightly faded spine and some scattered soil with chipping on the corners, this is a usable first edition copy of this book in a scarce dust jacket.
