An Original Glasgow Art Club Letter Headed note containing the signatures of 37 members present at a meeting dated Monday 8th January 1912 including Tom McEwen, John Keppie, William MacBride, Walter McAdam, James Kay, Alexander Kellock Brown, William MacBride, James Hamilton McKenzie, William Plate, John Henderson, John McGhie, H Maynell, William Miller, R M Coventry, John Lockhead, Andrew Black, R L Crawford, J Raeburn Middleton, A Brownlie Dicharty, David Fulbeck, , V Kellock Brown, Henry Morley, David Gould, Walter McAdam, Sir George Pirie, J Morris Hendry, James Laing, R L Sutherland, Thomas Hunt, and a few Others. One of Glasgow's, and Scotland's, most creative institutions Glasgow Art Club was founded in 1867. It is a club for artists and lay members with an interest in the arts, that has become over the generations "a meeting place for artists, business leaders and academics".[1] Each year it has a range of exhibitions open to the public for their enjoyment; and, subject to club events, a number of its rooms are available as venues for social occasions.
