Guarania Magazine dealt with the literary and cultural spaces of Paraguay and the world, with a great emphasis on America and the neighboring countries of Paraguay. Due to different circumstances, including economic and political, the magazine was published in five different stages, between Buenos Aires and Asunción. It was the Paraguayan magazine with the greatest international reach in the first half of the 20th century, due to the thematic, scope and opening of it to the collaborations of important foreign intellectuals, as well as to the Americanist and nativist character of it, based in large part in the thinking of its director and creator. Among the foreign collaborators we can mention the Ecuadorian Jorge Carreras Andrade, the Peruvians Luis Alberto Sánchez and Alberto Guillén, the Spanish Cansinos Assens, the Argentine Macedonio Fernández and the Mexican Elías Nandino. Like many other periodicals in Paraguay in the 20th century, it is very difficult to find complete collections. The numbers of the different periods are distributed among national and foreign libraries, from the Rio de la Plata to the United States, as well as in private collections, but none of them is complete, as is known from the research carried out in this regard. First stage: Between 1920 and 1932, published in Paraguay. Second stage: Between 1933 and 1937 (the most fruitful), published in Paraguay. Third stage: Between 1942 and 1944, published in Buenos Aires. Fourth stage: In 1948, in which it appears and disappears, published in Paraguay. Fifth stage: In 1969 a series of magazines was published, but already under another director because Natalicio González had died in 1966. Washington Pereyra T4,p331.
