Poetry is written by a 10 year old girl following the sudden death of her mother, as a means of recognizing her pain and distress. The photographs of the child and her Father and brother are taken by the very famous Japanese photographer Eikoh Hosoe. A COLLECTIBLE COPY.

First edition and first printing. Hardcover. Features the text of Miyuki Furuta's title poem written when she was in the fifth grade. The poem was inspired by the sudden death of her mother from a brain hemorrhage. Also includes additional poems by Furuta along with a brief text by her father Shigemi Furuta and a translator's note by Harold P. Wright. Includes numerous black and white images by Eikoh Hosoe of Furuta's remaining family. A clean and tight near fine copy in cloth boards with some slight tapping to the base of the spine and in a near fine dust jacket with some very minor wear. A very nice copy.
