Condición: Very good. - Octavo, 7-3/4 inches high by 5-3/4 inches wide. Three-quarter red calf with decorative red cloth, titled in gilt with gilt decorations between raised bands on the spine. The top edge is gilt. The covers are lightly rubbed. [ii], xiv, 231 & [i] pages plus 8 pages of publisher's ads. Illustrated with 16 full-page black-and-white plates, including the frontispiece. There is minor wear to the bottom of the front and rear hinges. The book's fore-edge and bottom edge are foxed and there is some minor occasional foxing to the contents. An early owner's holograph presentation label is mounted on the front endpaper and his name is stamped on the front pastedown. Very good. The chapters are titled "The Ring of the Curse" with it's 4 sub-chapters being "The Rhine-Gold", "The War Maidens", "Siegfried the Fearless" and "The Downfall of the Gods". The subsequent stories from Wagner's operas are titled "Parsifal the Pure", "Lohengrin the Swan Knight", "Tannhauser the Knight of Song", "The Master Singers", "Rienzi the Last of the Tribunes", "The Flying Dutchman" and "Tristan and Isolde".
