Hard Cover. Condición: Near Fine (see desciption). Estado de la sobrecubierta: Near Fine (see description). Edna Cooke Shoemaker Ilustrador. First Edition. ----------( 1st printing of the First DIAL Edition ) ---hardcover in the original box issued with the book, a lovely Near Fine example, very dark blue cloth which might actually be black as it is very dark, gilt lettering, colour paste-down on the front board reproduces the jacket art, this book was issued with the upper edge of the text block in yellow ---that yellow upper edge is still as bright and clean as the first day of issue, a very faint bit of browning to the front and rear blank endpapers from the dustjacket flap, erasure mark on front blank endpaper, no writing in the book, tight and square, likely as close to new as one could hope for ---this is in a Near Fine original dustjacket with just the tiniest bit of very slight crinkling at spine tips, no chips or tears, a beautiful example of the dustjacket which is now in a hi-quality mylar protector, ---this copy also has its original box with no tears to the box, some light edge and tip wear, light soiling and age toning to the box but the box has kept the book in as close to new condition as one could hope for, box lid has acolour pastedown of a different Edna Cooke illustration -----overall a wonderful example of a book that is heading for the 100 year mark, the copyright page states "Reprinted 1935" but this is the first DIAL edition and the reprint designation is referring to the 1920 Duffield edition which also had the Cooke illustrations ---all other copies of this book seem to state Reprint edition which makes me believe that "REPRINTED" refers to the earlier edition by a different publisher, -----this contains: Jackanapes; Mary's Meadow; So-So; A Very Ill-Tempered Family; Lob Lie-by-the-Fire; The Peace Egg; Daddy Darwin's Dovecote; Dandelion Clocks; Old Father Christmas; The Kyrkegrim Turned Preacher; The Story of a Short Life, any image directly beside this listing is the actual book and not a generic photo /// NOT SIGNED ---GUARANTEED to be AVAILABLE///---sizes are approximate (generally within 1/8 inch)--- Size: 7.25w x 9.25h Inches. Not Signed. Price Clipped Jacket.
