Hardcover. Condición: Near Fine. No Jacket. 1st Edition. First edition hardcover in very dark green cloth covered boards with red titles and line drawings of a Scottish chap in full garb with long hose criss crossed with the laces of his ghillies, wearing a sporran, kilt, sash and cap facing frt on the frt board, and showing the backside view of his outfit on the rear board. Not exlib, no names, tears or soil in the 102 pp text which does not show one illustration of the kilt inside, just several decorative floral and ruled line drawings as chapter headings and endings. Perhaps the most sought book on the subject and quite hard to come by, this one is *more* that suitable for gift giving. The spine ends are *barely* bumped, tips still sharp, only flaw I see externally is a small crescent shaped, fingernail size dent in the rear gutter 1" up from foot that doesn't break the cloth. The inner hinge papers are fine, page block very lightly age-toned at periphery but not brittle. Book measures 7 3/4" tall x 5" wide x 7/16th thick. Includes much more than kilt chat, you will learn of: 'Gaidheal' and 'Gall, the Clans, The Highland Line or Boundary, Of Tartans, Clan Tartans, Hill Checks, of Dress in General and the Highland Dress in Particular, the Bonnet, The Doublet, Feileadh-Mor and Feileadh-Beag: of the Kilt - Big and Little, Hose, Garters and Brogues, Plaids, Arms and Ornaments.
