Decorative Cloth. Condición: Fine. 2nd Edition. London : Sampson Low, Marston, Low, & Searle. 2nd revised English edition, 1876. Translated by Benjamin Bucknall., 1876. 8vo. 268pp. Profusely illustrated with textual wood engravings and plates and with chromo color plates. Le Duc was French's greatest architect in the 19th century, he was the restorer of Notre Dame to her former glory and was elected by Napoleon III to re build the defense of Paris and modernize the city, The Franco Prussian war defeat and the fall of Napoleon III led to his fall from grace, but he is still a great author and this is the finest copy of this book anywhere on the market. Full gilt pictorial brown cloth quite charming.
