Bamls ? tears to edges and some creases thru print; 5) T. J. Jackson published by Johnson & Wilson in 1874; 6) Benj. F. Butler; has some tears to edges; 7) Major General George H. Thomas, Engraved and published by J. C. Buttre 1865; borders designed by John R. Chapin, photographed by George N. Barnard size: 14-1/4 x 18-1/4 in.; not part of Chappel group; 8) W. Shuman ? engraved by Kellogg & Com. from a photograph has a water marks on edges and a little into image. Not part of the Chappel group; 9) Colonel Elmer E. Ellsworyth "One of the First Martyrs of the Great Rebellion", engraved and published by William Sartain; 10) John F. Half Bound Leather. Condición: Good. Alonzo Chappel and Thomas Nast Ilustrador. First Edition. Black leather and green, pebbled cloth. Pink endpapers. Steel engravings. Marbling on the text block ends has mostly faded, and the text block ends have darkened. Vol. 1: 620 pages; 38 chapters; ends of back joint appear to have been split and repaired; the front board has 4 water stains; a fourth of the back board has a stain; an owner's name is on the front pastedown; broken hinges are repaired with cloth, hinge tape; most of the bottom, front corner of the text block has water stain, which runs onto the pages, up to 3 1/2 in. Vol. 2: 660 pages; chapters 39-79; the bottom edge of the spine strip is missing; endpapers are split over the cord hinges; the last 52 pages have water stain on the bottom margins; 45 pages have water stain on the top corner; 14 pages have water stain on the inside margin; a large chip on an inside margin is repaired with document repair tape. Vol. 3: 642 pages; chapters 80-115; the cloth has 8 faded spots, up to a linear 1 3/4 in.; the broken front hinge is repaired with cloth, hinge tape; the back endpaper is split over the cord hinges; 2 pages each have a chipped corner. All volumes have sparse, other stains, tiny chips, and closed tears. Extra shipping cost required. Photos e-mailed upon request.

Duyckinck (1816-1878) was an American publisher and biographer associated with the Young America Movement. His publications deal mainly with American history and culture, as well as poetry.
