Descripción: J. H.MacDonnell, London, 1922. Condición: Good. First Edition (?). Letterpress. Single sheet. Verbatim transcript of Reginald Dunn s statement to the London court that sentenced him to death, with Joseph O Sullivan, for the murder of Sir Henry Wilson. Reprinted from the Irish Independent, Friday July 21 1922. Rare, not listed in Copac National, Academic, and Specialist Library Catalogue (COPAC).Dunn and O Sullivan were former British soldiers who had served in France, fighting for the rights of small nationalities ; O Sullivan lost a leg at Ypres. On returning to Ireland they joined the IRA. In 1921 the Northern Ireland Government was set up, to which Henry Wilson was Military Advisor, an Orange Terror had been launched and horrible outrages committed.Dunn and O Sullivan challenged Wilson outside his London home on 22 June and shot him dead. It is widely believed the killing was authorised by Michael Collins, perhaps before the June 1921 Truce. The incident led to British pressure on the Provisional Government, and was a major factor in the slide towards Civil War in Ireland. Size: 10 x 7.5 Inches (25 x 19 Cm.). Nº de ref. del artículo: 015885
