Wraps. Condición: Good. First Edition. Bianca Capello, Dramma in Cinque Atti versi DI F. Dall'Ongaro, Preceduto da un Racconto Storico di Alessandro Dumas. Napoli , G. Lubrano E C. Editori, 1863. A rare book in it's own right, this copy bears the name of Henry Wadworth Longfellow on the front wrap, "Henry W. Longfellow, 1868." Not an autograph or inscription per se, one could assume this title was part of his personal collection/library based on the location at the top middle of the title page/wrap cover. Longfellow visited Italy around 1868 so it was presumably purchased while he was there. This is a fragile book in pale blue printed wraps. The front cover is mostly loose held on by what appears to be very old clear (now yellowed) binders paper repair tape that wraps around the spine to the back cover. There is a quarter size chip at the top right of the cover, repaired again with binders tape and a small piece of paper. None of the binders tape covers text but several pieces run on to the lines framing the title. This tape would likely be easy for a conservator to remove with little damage. The back cover is intact, somewhat foxed. The title page is also missing a small piece in the top right corner, not affecting any text, and a slighty rough outside edge, otherwise the interior pages of the book are quite bright and clean. A worn but preserved copy of this rare, fragile title, arguably from the collection of one of America's most famous poets. ; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; 117 pages; Signed by Notable Personage, Unrelated.
