Internally very good; binding tight; no foxing; illustrated with a photograph of the stage set. We have a number of play scripts like this and they were used as working documents so annotations, underlinings etc are to be expected but this copy has none.

Measures 4.25" x 6.5". Bright red cover art features two women, one with dark hair sitting on a chair in a black cocktail dress, while a blonde woman stands behind her, looking down lovingly. Tagline reads: "The world condemned their love." When the novel was first published as a hardcover in 1931, it created a sensation in England for its portrayal of lesbian characters in love. About the novel, actor Neil Pearson wrote: "It's probably safe to assume that Loveliest of Friends describes a phase in her personal development." Front cover is bright, with small, fading stamp in the upper corner with the date: "JUN 26, 1956." Textblock is tight and in very good condition.
